He began snowboarding in the late 90’s when snowboards still had straight tails, he started on one of the first Burton boards that his mother got him for Christmas. He taught his brother how to snowboard and took him to Mt. Baker, Steven’s Pass, Alpental, and eventually Mt. Hood. In 1995, Rich moved to Mt. Hood, Oregon where he lived for twenty-two years. Rich was a very funny person who made people laugh and humble them. Rich was a great snowboarder and that showed when he became the head coach for this country’s largest snowboarding camp, High Cascade.

Drake was a camp counselor at High Cascade Snowboard Camp in the summer time (2012) and was one of the raddest funnest guys you would have ever met. He left you laughing every day wether at breakfast, on the hill, or playing dodgeball which he dominates at! His attitude was always positive, and you could tell he was just enjoying life helping all these kids do the thing he loved most which was snowboarding. I know Drake is looking down on all of his friends at High Cascade smiling with the joy they are having doing the sport that brought them all together. Its amazing how a sport can bring so many different people together while having fun. What ever your sport is be thankful that you are doing it and never let little things get the best of you because you never know when your time will come. RIP Drake Aron Edwards and Happy Birthday to you man. #ShredforDrake
